I may be the last to know. I often am. I just discovered Amazon Prime. Why didn't someone tell me about this before!? I am so excited about this. Amazon Prime is similar to Netflix but so much better. AND CHEAPER!! It costs $79 per year, equivalent to $6.58 per month. Netflix is at least $8.00 per month, and with Netflix you just get movies and tv shows. With Amazon Prime you get:
FREE 2 day shipping on millions of products. (Sometimes you get next day shipping). I ordered a book one day and got it the next. FOR FREE! Do you know how much I have paid Amazon for shipping over the years!!?? Oh, and there is NO MINIMUM purchase for the free shipping. I ordered a book today for $2, and I get free shipping! The $79 is worth it just for the shipping (especially at Christmas), but you get so much more than that!
You get access to thousands of free movies and t.v.shows just like Netflix. However, Amazon has a much bigger selection. With Netflix, you can only view certain movies for free and do not have access to anything else. With Amazon Prime, you get free movies and t.v. shows, but you also can rent just about any movie you want instantly, even if there is a fee. (All you need is an HDMI cord to be able to connect your computer to the t.v.)
Prices are reduced for Prime members.
You get a free book rental every month for your Kindle.
A larger number of Kindle books are free.
You can see why I am kicking myself that I haven't investigated what this Amazon Prime thing was before. I finally found out about it over lunch one day with some friends. They all had it. I didn't. See? Last to know. Anyway, I am including the link to the right of this post in case you also have been in the dark about this and want to check it out. You can do a 1 month free trial and then you have the option to buy. During the Christmas season would be a good opportunity to try it out.
The link is on the right. It says Amazon Prime. It wasn't working in my post for some reason.
Well, you are surely not the last to know about Amazon Prime. I've never heard of it. My wife has a Kindle and maybe it would be a great place for her too. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the free movies and TV shows on Amazon Prime. Thanks for sharing this. Netflix's selection isn't very extensive.
ReplyDeleteThis is probably going to sound weird, but I don't care much about the 2-day shipping since I'm seldom in a hurry to get things. Also, I've done delivery work before, and this offer tempts us to make other people frantically rush around for no compelling reason. I wouldn't feel right about it unless I needed something quickly, but maybe that's just me.
I would guess that Amazon offers the slower shipping speed option for free, if people want to decline the fast shipping.
